OSER Platform Features

Current Version Features

The OSER Platform uses Postfix to provide secure and reliable e-mail transport. Many e-mail users have years worth of e-mail and fairly complex folder structures. With that comes the need for powerful search and filtering capibilities. The OSER Platform uses Courier IMAP as its e-mail server component, and recommends the use of Mozilla Thunderbird as an e-mail client. However the OSER Platform supports all IMAP capable mail clients.

The abilitiy to communicate with others using text/video/voice/shared whiteboard in real time is a requirement for many businesses. We use Jabber to provide that ability and support all Jabber capable clients as well as the following: As many businesses are required to log IM traffic, the OSER Platform is capable of using BanderSnatch for logging.

E-mail and Instant Messaging has become plauged with viruses and spam. The OSER Platform uses Clam Anti Virus and Spam Assassian to provide world class protection.

A centralized address book accessible anytime from any device, that stores every possible bit of information about contacts is something that many users demand. The OSER Platform uses OpenLDAP and SyncML to provide anytime/anywhere access to contact information.

Using the web based administration suite (based on Webmin) you can control all aspects of the OSER Platform from a simple but powerful interface. Everything from e-mail quotas to voice mail boxes. You can even delegate control of certain functions to other users.

The OSER Platform supports high availability features. Using the excellent software provided by the Linux High Availability Project enables automatic failover and clustering. We use the Linux Virtual Server Project for load balancing.
